Help with incomplete refund on canceled purchase on eBay
Hello everyone,
I’d like to share my situation and ask for guidance on how to proceed in this case:
A while ago I bought a cell phone on eBay for 1836.38 PEN, with shipping costs of 144.46 PEN, for a total of 1980.84 PEN. However, when I checked the charge on my bank account, I was charged 2028 PEN, which was already a higher amount than expected. I didn’t file a complaint at the time because the price was still reasonable.
The problem arose when the seller canceled the sale. I received a message saying that I would be refunded, but when I checked my account, only 1779 PEN was returned to me, which means a difference of 249 PEN.
I want to point out that:
- I did not cancel the purchase, the seller did.
- According to the bank, in this type of case the refund should be full.
Now I’m left without the product and with an incomplete refund. I’m trying to understand whether this is an eBay error, the seller’s, or some kind of unreported fee.
I would really appreciate it if someone who has been through something similar or has experience with this kind of situation could guide me on how to proceed. Should I contact eBay directly or keep pressing the bank?
