Thanks for your message. I’d be happy to explain what’s going on. Normally, some banks temporarily hold funds when merchants first send the authorization request (when you make the payment on eBay and receive confirmation of your purchase), and the funds are also sometimes held when the payment from the first authorization request is processed later.
If you haven’t received a purchase confirmation email, this confirms that your financial institution needs to process the payment (pre-authorization). Keep in mind that in some cases it can even take a month to disappear from your account, but it will be removed from your bank statement without you having to take any action, since this is automatic.
In case the pre-authorization charge does not remove itself, we suggest contacting your bank/financial institution so they can give you an estimated date for when that pre-authorization will be removed from your account.
I understand that you have already contacted them, but it is standard for them to ask you to contact us, and once you contact them again just explain that we have checked and you never received a notification that the transaction was successful and that you need the pre-authorization charge to be removed from your bank statement.
