Purchase made and paid. Money held and it ends up canceling itself
Hi everyone, has this happened to anyone else: I bought a product, paid by card, the money gets taken, it’s held, and after 3 days they end up cancelling it automatically because there was a billing error. Very strange because the money is still held; I’ve made the purchase again, they’ve held it again and it appears as a completed purchase but it says, "not paid" and on the bank card they’ve already held the money from me.
Right now I have 2 times the amount held for the same item because of this. Thanks.

Hello @oddiel_83,
I’d like to confirm that your item has not been charged twice, and I’ll be happy to explain what’s happening. Normally, banks temporarily hold funds when merchants first send the authorization request (when you make the payment on eBay and receive confirmation of your purchase) and, also, the funds are sometimes held when payment from the first authorization request is processed later.
If you have not received a purchase confirmation email, this confirms that your financial institution needs to process the payment (pre-authorization). Please note that in some cases it can take even a month to be removed from your account, but it will be removed from your bank statement without you having to take any action, as this is automatic.
In case the pre-authorization charge is not removed on its own, we suggest contacting your bank/financial institution so they can give you an estimated date of when that pre-authorization will be removed from your account.
Contact your bank and explain that we have checked and you never received a notification that the transaction was successful and that you need the pre-authorization charge to be removed from your bank statement.
Best regards,
Cinthia
