Good afternoon, I made the purchase of a watch from a seller in Singapore for an amount under 150 EUR. At the time of purchase, Ebay clearly stated that the price included taxes, in line with the current regulations since 2021, which allow the internet portal to take care of paying the corresponding VAT on your purchase in Spain. Since the sale is made from Singapore, with the existing EU-Singapore free trade agreement there are no tariffs or any fee other than VAT (VAT). So I wasn't expecting any kind of extra cost. To my surprise, I receive a message from DHL asking me to pay the customs clearance fee, since they have already advanced the VAT money for me. This means a bill for the corresponding 21% VAT and about 21.66 EUR in handling fees, when the VAT was already paid to Ebay and I have the tax invoice that proves it. The problem is that in the shipment the seller only attaches an invoice with the price without taxes and not this tax invoice generated by Ebay; I don't know if they have access to it but it's a problem. I can't handle the import myself through the H7 form and provide the documentation proving that the VAT payment has already been made because DHL is faster and already does it on your behalf (to charge you later for the processing, of course). So they want me to pay VAT twice and then claim it back, and charge me for a process that was unnecessary from the start. Has anything similar happened to anyone else?
