eBay has straight-up robbed me
Let me explain my situation:
I’ve been selling on Ebay for 20 years, with more than 1,000 transactions without any serious problems or major complaints.
Last year I opened a new account based in Spain, went through the account verification process, and it supposedly passed without any issue.
I listed an item for sale, with a considerable value, and the item sold very quickly. The buyer made the payment, Ebay asked me to ship it, so I arranged the shipment directly with ebay, went to the post office and handed over the package.
Ebay already had the funds in its possession, and I had delivered the item.
That’s when my nightmare started. A day after shipping, I received an email from Ebay saying my ID could not be verified. I uploaded my official government-issued Spanish ID card again. After that, I later received an email from Ebay.com in the United States, in English, which is not legal for a notification from a Spanish commerce site, telling me that my account was permanently blocked without explaining why, simply notifying me of the block in an irregular way from a USA domain and in English.
Meanwhile, the buyer received the item, rated it well, and the transaction ended without any problem.
The problem I have is directly with ebay, since for 6 months they have been hiding behind that block to keep 734 euros of mine withheld.
Initially they had told me to wait 170 days and call again in February. I called today, February 3, and they tell me they are still withholding my funds indefinitely, “based on local legislation,” but they do not mention any legislation.
It’s been 6 months since I successfully sold my item and 6 months that ebay has kept my money without giving any explanation other than that it’s due to the block on my account. A block that, as I said... was irregular because it comes in English from a different domain than the one I signed up on and in a language that is not official for the domain I signed up on.
I honestly feel ROBBED, ROBBED BY EBAY. They try to protect themselves from fraud, but they are the ones hurting customers. Honestly, I do not recommend anyone sell on ebay, because on top of that customer service only tells me by email that I’m going to receive my money, but they don’t say anything concrete. I’ve been in this situation for 6 months and still have no solution. On top of that I paid about 100 euros in selling fees, which is fine, I have no complaints there, it was my obligation and I fulfilled it, but ebay keeps harming me by unjustifiably withholding my money, so the only thing I can say is that ebay.es are THIEVES.

OP1 year agoWell,
Ebay's latest response is that: "The Government of Spain will contact you to return your funds" sounds more like a joke than an official communication. Which entity of the Government of Spain? Within what timeframe? How will they contact me? Honestly, what a shame of a platform.
So today I filed a complaint with the Spanish National Police against Ebay for misappropriation.
I’ll keep you posted if they eventually manage to finish the theft against me or if I get my money back...

OP1 year agoDays go by and eBay keeps illegally holding onto my money, what do you call that?

Hello @la_garza_mayor
Thank you for your message. I understand that this situation has been frustrating, but I’m afraid that without more information, it’s impossible for me to offer advice. If you are receiving notifications in English, it is because you registered with an eBay.com account and not an eBay.es account
Please contact my colleagues on our Help Pages .
I hope this information is helpful.
Best regards
Cinthia

OP1 year agoI signed up on ebay.es, my account is completely blocked and it doesn't even let me contact support, what information do you want, Cinthia?

OP1 year agoWhen will they give me my money back? They've been holding it for 6 months... it's about time, no?

OP1 year agoWish I could tell you I have a solution, but no, they’re still holding my funds, now “indefinitely”

OP1 year agoToday, another day trying to get my money back from these abusers

OP1 year agoI still don't see my money, eBay keeps perpetuating the theft of my money that it is doing to me

OP1 year agoAnd they just received this response:
"We are writing to you because you have recently contacted our Customer Support team.
This communication regarding Payment Receipt was documented as a claim 2-190342196127.
An eBay specialist has investigated this matter in depth and has determined that you received the correct information or the necessary guidance in accordance with our policies and that, therefore, the resolution is correct.
Since eBay does not have anything else to do at the moment, we inform you that we have closed your claim."
Honestly, they are a joke, they laugh in users' faces, I will keep fighting until I get my money back, I'm not going to let myself be robbed in front of my face

OP1 year agoAnd worst of all, I only get “template” email replies, meaning no one responsible has taken the time to analyze my case and look at the history to propose any possible solution, just predefined responses that only end up dragging the case out.
I feel wronged by Ebay, I’ve already said robbed, and I don’t know which authority regulates them because I need to file a formal complaint about this abuse. If anyone knows who regulates them in Spain, I’d appreciate the information

OP1 year agoI even have to write from my old account, because my new account registered in Spain won't even let me enter the forum... now I just hope they don't affect this account too
