Ebay is charging me an unfair fee. Should I return the receipt???
Hi, I’ll tell you about my case: I sold an item on eBay, I sent it, added the tracking, and after two or three days it showed as delivered.
So far, okay.
A few days later the buyer sends me a message saying he hasn’t received it and so on, and I tell him to ask the neighbors to see if they left it with them or to contact the shipping company.
To which he insists that nothing has arrived. I send him the tracking with proof of delivery.
Doesn’t sound right to me...
Anyway, I open a case on eBay myself because I think the buyer is lying and does actually have the item.
eBay asks me to provide evidence and I send everything: delivery note, tracking, shipping agency, shipping label, everything.
Then eBay asks me for a signed document from the buyer, which I don’t have since supposedly the buyer is the one who should have it! And the shipping company doesn’t have it either.
Anyway, what a surprise! eBay closes the case in the buyer’s favor! And refunds him the money!
I was freaking out when I had provided all the evidence except a signed document, which I don’t have.
And the buyer keeps the item and the money! A buyer with zero reviews and an account created recently!
But that’s not all! eBay also charges me the selling fee (not completed) of €80!!
They’ve just taken it off my bank statement.
I contact eBay and no matter how much I tell them and explain, they wash their hands of it saying that’s their policy!
Shameful!
The bank gives me the option to RETURN the charge, should I return it???

OP2 years agoI’ve already done it. And EBAY has maintained the resolution. Shameful.
It says I haven’t provided delivery signature documentation; how am I supposed to have that? The recipient will have it and the carrier doesn’t have it either.
Worst of all, eBay doesn’t even bother to refund the selling fee.
I’ll close my eBay account and reverse through the bank the charge from ebay for the fee!
