eBay doesn't recognize my national ID
Hello, when finishing creating an ad on Ebay, it asks for my personal details, nationality, date of birth, and national ID number. When I enter either my national ID number or my national passport number, or I have even tried putting my Spanish NIE, I always get the error in red saying: Enter a valid official identification document. That’s why I can’t move forward or publish the ads.

Hello,
The NIE would not normally be accepted to update your account information, but you can alternatively provide a copy of your driver’s license, residence permit, or passport (not the numbers, but an image of one of these documents) at the end of the page when trying to complete registration.
You can also try replacing the number 0 with the first letter of the NIE by following these steps:
- Choose Spain as nationality
- Enter your date of birth
- Enter the NIE with a zero in front instead of the letter, and the normal letter at the end. E.g. Y1234567N and our system will accept it by entering "01234567N"
Also, it is important to clarify that in the field intended for the DNI you will not be able to enter other information and if after following these steps, you have any questions, we would advise you to contact our specialized Team directly from this page and you can contact them via chat or request a call, so they can provide you with further assistance on this matter.
