Does eBay stop you from bidding even though you’ve never had any missed or late payments?

Is it possible for Ebay to stop you from bidding even though you have never had a single unpaid item in your entire account history?

I've been a buyer for more than 8 years.

Recently I won several bids (8, from the same store) and the next day I wanted to keep bidding (in the same store) but it was no longer possible because I got the message I attach below from Ebay.

I have read and clearly understand what it says, but that information is not correct, never have I had anything unpaid, delays, returns, or any issue with any seller... 😅

The seller has told me to talk to Ebay, that it's not a problem with their store because they allow won bids to accumulate over several days so that everything can be paid at the end and thus arrange combined shipping.

Any idea why Ebay acts this way if both the seller and the buyer are doing everything correctly?

Thanks for your message, it's completely normal for your account to be restricted if you've won several items and still haven't paid for them. From what you mention, in the last 24 hours you've won some items and we'll need you to pay for them before you can continue bidding on other listings.

You can go to your Purchase History and look in the Unpaid section, you can see the items you need to pay for and once we can see a payment history on the account, you'll be able to bid on other items.

In the end I paid the 8 bids to the buyer and couldn’t take advantage of the condition they were offering (bundling up to 20 bids in the same shipment).
Afterwards I was able to bid (again on items from this seller) on more than 20 bids (accumulating up to 20 won items and pending, this time yes with a new combined shipment as the seller offers).

For that reason I conclude that Ebay doesn’t have such a clear recorded criterion, or else, if it does have a clear way of operating, it doesn’t seem to state it clearly in writing either at the time of the problem or in its various help options.

I could understand a compromised account due to previous non-payments, or a new account with no history. But an old account with no incidents? It’s not very logical that 8 bids DO NOT block you, but then +20 bids DO, go ahead.
