Seller scam for a swltch console for "only" €329, without indicating additional customs costs.
Hello, I’d be interested in knowing how I could report this to consumer protection (or something like that), since I bought a nlntend0 swltch (just the console) a week ago, supposedly "for €329 and no shipping costs", and a few days later the customs people call me to tell me that either I paid an extra €100, or they would return the product, to which I said to return the product because with those extra €100 I could buy a new console, with controllers and games included.
Since the product hasn’t arrived, I ask the seller for a refund, but he tells me that on eBay it says that there may be additional costs if customs intercept the order, to which I point out that in the item description nowhere does it say that there was that cost, nor what the amount would be.
As we can’t reach an agreement, I file a claim on eBay, but they wash their hands of it, saying more or less that they can’t issue the refund because the seller hasn’t received the product back.
I also later looked at the reviews on eBay about the sale of that product, and there are many in which, if the buyers could have, they would have given zero stars, because their order never arrived.
Conclusion: they try to scam you with relatively cheap prices, but without indicating that those prices do not include customs costs, and that’s why the products end up being more expensive than in official stores. On top of that, if you request the return of the product from customs to the seller, you’re left without the money and without the product.
