scam after winning an auction
I won an auction from Spain for an item from a
seller in the U.S. with almost 100% positive feedback,
I paid for it and after a few minutes the seller
sends me a message saying that, if I don't mind,
I should know that the item I won in the auction and that was sold
as new and unopened, just as it was shown in the photo
posted in the auction, is not really the one he is going to
send me and, on top of that, next to the message I get a tab
with an eBay link where you can agree to pay
more for the item I won in the auction.
The baffling thing is that I can't file a claim
to cancel the payment and request a refund because eBay does not
recognize either the item or the seller's order number.
I can't reply to the seller's message or request that
they return the money I paid because eBay, simply because
the messages page and reporting these incidents to eBay
don't work properly, simply doesn't work.
What can be done to stop this? I'm sure there are more people who
have had this happen and will keep having it happen??? .
