scam in the information they give you from eBay
I recently ordered an item that came with customs charges.
I had not been informed that I would have to pay customs charges, on top of the €87 shipping costs.
I called eBay to make a complaint, and an agent tells me to return the item and then file the claim so they can refund my money
After doing what they told me, they close the case, they don't refund my money, and they tell me there is no record of the calls I made.
Clearly this is a SCAM DUE TO BAD INFORMATION FROM EBAY AGENTS. They wash their hands of it and I lose the €300 from the order.
If they have agents giving information that they don't know what they're telling you, they should take responsibility for their ineptitude, but since you lose the money, they couldn't care less. IT IS A SHAME.

Hello @anamariavid-0,
Thank you for your message. I'm sorry to hear that this has been your experience and I would like to confirm that customs fees and VAT are the buyer's responsibility, so these should have been paid by you in order to receive the item.
If the seller has received the item back and you can confirm it with the tracking number, you may "Ask eBay for help" and we will be happy to review your options.
Best regards
Cinthia
