I won an auction but the seller had not included the shipping cost, so it ends up being very expensive
I won an auction, the seller didn’t include the shipping cost, then says the cost is $250 for a single item from Houston to Miami, which seems very expensive to me. The item cost $321, which makes the shipping almost the same price as the item.. what can I do?

Hello @robarr1849,
I understand that you have won an auction on eBay and the seller did not include the shipping cost initially. Then, by deciding on a shipping cost that you had not considered. Here are some steps you can follow to address this situation:
Contact the seller: First, try to establish direct communication with the seller to express your concerns about the high shipping cost. You can ask if there is a cheaper shipping option available and confirm the auction details to make sure there was no unintentional omission of the shipping cost in the listing. If the shipping cost was not clearly specified, you have the right to discuss this discrepancy with the seller.
Request cancellation: If the significantly high shipping cost was not previously set out in the auction terms, and the seller is not willing to offer a reasonable alternative, you could consider requesting cancellation of the transaction. According to eBay policies, sellers must provide all transaction costs transparently, and if they have not done so, you may have the right to cancel the sale if you do not want to proceed under these new terms.
Report the seller: If the situation is not resolved and the seller is not willing to provide a cheaper shipping alternative or does not send you a refund, consider sending us a report on eBay. This can help formalize the complaint and seek a resolution with eBay's help.
Remember that it is important to maintain clear and professional communication with the seller in order to reach a satisfactory solution. I hope these steps are useful to you, and I wish you success in resolving this problem.
I hope this information is helpful and send you my regards.
Cinthia
