Unreported amounts and taxes
Yesterday I won an auction for $240 with shipping from the United States, and when the auction ended it showed that I had to pay $290 without even counting duties or shipping; altogether that came to $330 or €310, which has nothing to do with the price I ended up winning the auction for. This information isn’t shown during the auction, and it makes no sense that once I’ve won the auction they charge me fees that weren’t included. I’m attaching proof and asking for help
If there’s anything I can do to reduce the outrageous cost, I’d appreciate your replies

Hello,
Thank you for your message. Any possible import costs are the responsibility of each buyer, and we would not have direct control over them, as they can vary depending on each country's Customs office.
What we suggest for the future as a buyer, if you are interested in an item shipped from the United Kingdom or the United States, is that you carefully read this guide where you will find useful information about international purchases. For example, keep in mind that if you buy from sellers in the United Kingdom or the United States, and the seller ships through the global shipping program, you will see all possible import costs stated in the listing.
Likewise, we would recommend that you do not refuse such payment, as that could cause us not to be able to help you if you later open a claim, since in cases where a buyer refuses payment at customs, we would not be able to hold the seller responsible, nor help you with a refund if the package is not delivered to the buyer for that reason. Also remember that if it is double VAT, you can provide the proof on this page
