The messages section on the Ebay website is not working
I connect to Ebay from the Ebay.es website. I use a desktop PC with W11 and the Microsoft Edge browser for this. Since the design of the messages section was changed, back around November 8th or 9th, I can’t open any message and I can’t interact. I can read them from Outlook because Ebay sends a copy of the message to my email, but I can’t open them or reply to them on Ebay.
I’ve contacted Ebay customer service twice since then, and they told me the same thing both times: that it’s a technical issue they are aware of and that the only solution is to wait for the technicians to fix it. I think it’s excessive that the technicians haven’t been able to resolve the issue in a month.
It must be a problem that affects such a small number of people that they simply haven’t bothered to fix it. I don’t think I’m the only one with this problem. There is a message here from November 8th from someone describing the same problem; someone gives them the solution of clearing the browser’s cookies and cache, but I’ve tried it and it doesn’t work.
However, I think the problem is very specific and probably has something to do with the browser’s personal settings, although I don’t know exactly what needs to be changed. I came to this conclusion because from the Ebay app on an Android device I was able to use the messages section, and even through the website, on a family member’s laptop I managed it too.
Since Ebay has abandoned me, I ask that if anyone knows how to solve it, please contact me.

Hello @anmagoque12,
I understand that you can't see your messages and I recommend that you clear your browser cache and cookies: This can resolve unexpected behavior on websites.
If the steps above don't work, I suggest using incognito mode: Trying to access messages in incognito mode can help avoid problems caused by browser extensions or cookies.
and if the above fails, then I recommend that you contact us so that you can provide us with more detailed information about your experience. Contact us on our Help Pages and then select the topic of your query, at the end of each page you will find a section that says Contact Us, if you click on this section, you will find the option to call us, chat with us, send us an email, etc.
Another quick and free option you have to communicate with us is using our Social Media channels:
eBay Facebook Spain
eBay Twitter Spain
We will be happy to help you and I’ll be on the lookout for your message.
Best regards
Cinthia

OP1 year agoThanks for helping, Cinthia, but I’m afraid your suggestions don’t work for me. I’ve already explained that I’ve tried clearing the browser cache and cookies and it doesn’t work. I’ve also already contacted eBay customer support twice and they haven’t solved anything for me. As for going into incognito mode, well I personally don’t dare do it, and I also wouldn’t recommend it for now. Some time ago eBay blocked my account for messing around with these things. I’d rather try other solutions first.
