Pay for the item in the currency it’s advertised in directly
Hello!
Can you pay for an item in the currency in which the item is listed (in this case, dollars) instead of its value in euros (which is my country's currency), so that the charge appears on my credit card bank statement in dollars, and the bank is the one that does the currency conversion, not eBay?
I say this because if I pay eBay in euros, at the time of purchase they apply an exchange rate that is quite different from the one applied in the listing when they show the price in euros, and therefore there is a considerable price difference between the listed price and the final purchase price.
I suppose it is because they add a fee to that exchange rate (which, by the way, is not indicated in the listing) But then my bank applies another fee again for the same concept, meaning I end up paying twice for the same currency exchange, which is what I want to avoid.

To answer your question about paying in the original currency of the item on eBay, it’s important to mention that eBay generally converts the item price to the buyer’s local currency at the time of purchase. However, some buyers prefer to have their bank handle the currency conversion to avoid additional eBay fees.
If your bank offers the option to pay in other currencies, you’ll be able to use that service directly with your bank.
