Payment in installments with PayPal
I made a purchase of a T-shirt using Paypal, splitting it into 3 installments. At the time of purchase, the money was deducted from my bank account (although the transaction appears as "held" for that amount), but on the item page it says it is still available for purchase (as if it hadn't gone through) and the seller hasn't received anything either. In Paypal it says the transaction is "pending". Any solution?

Hello xu-055,
Thank you for your message. I’d like to confirm that your item has not been charged twice and I’ll be happy to explain what’s happening. Normally, some banks or PayPal temporarily hold funds when merchants first send the authorization request (when you make the payment on eBay and receive confirmation of your purchase) and, sometimes, the funds are also held when the payment from the first authorization request is processed later and therefore shows as pending.
If you have not received a purchase confirmation email, this confirms that your financial institution needs to process the payment (pre-authorization). Please note that in some cases it can take even a month to clear from your account, but it will be removed from your bank statement without you having to take any action, as this is automatic.
In case the pre-authorization charge is not removed on its own and the funds are reversed, we suggest contacting your bank/financial institution/PayPal so they can give you an estimated date for when that pre-authorization will be removed from your account.
When you contact them, just explain that we have verified and you never received a notification that the transaction was successful and that you need the pre-authorization charge to be removed from your bank statement.
Best regards,
Cinthia
