DNI, NIE problem for foreigners
Hello. Like many people in this forum, I have run into the problem that eBay does not accept my NIE when trying to verify the seller account. I live in Spain, but I am not a Spanish citizen. I have an NIE number, but apparently eBay does not recognize my number as valid. I read in a post that you have to replace the first letter with the number zero, but in my case that did not work. Has anyone had this experience? I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

The NIE would not normally be accepted to update your account information, but you can provide as an alternative a copy of your driver’s license, residence permit, or passport (not the numbers, but an image of one of these documents) at the bottom of the page when trying to complete the registration.
It is important to clarify that in the field intended for the DNI you will not be able to enter other information, and if you have further specific questions about changing your eBay account from individual to business, we would advise you to contact our specialized Team directly from this page and you can contact them via chat or request a call, so they can provide you with more help on this matter.

OP1 year agoHello. I've tried everything I could think of. I tried leaving this field blank, but a red message appeared saying that this field is required. I tried entering my NIE number in different variations, even replacing the first letter with a zero, but nothing worked. Every time, a red message appears rejecting my attempt to verify my personal details. Maybe you can help me more? Thanks.

Thanks for your message, I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble registering with your INE. I’d like you to try replacing the number 0 with the first letter of the NIE by following these steps:
- Choose Spain as your nationality
- Enter your date of birth
- Enter the NIE with a zero at the beginning instead of the letter, and the normal letter at the end. Example: Y1234567N and our system will accept it by entering "01234567N"

OP1 year agoHello. Thanks for the help. I’ve already tried doing it this way many times. And now I tried again. Unfortunately, this doesn’t help. I still see the error that my data cannot be accepted. Maybe there’s some other idea? Thanks.
