Shipping costs
Buying a book from Europe to the United States has shipping costs so high that they sometimes exceed the value of the book itself by two or three times. Therefore the transaction becomes unfeasible. I had understood that there was a rate at the United States post offices, under which sending books was much cheaper than any other item since it was supposed to be a cultural object. Could eBay inform book sellers about the existence of this rate so that they could apply it and thus sell more?
