Are they discontinuing the global shipping program?
I've been buying items from the US for a while now and almost all the sellers had the global shipping program, which gave me peace of mind, because they tell you upfront and charge you directly what you're going to spend on customs. But many of the sellers I follow, who used to use this program, suddenly don't have it anymore, so I'm hesitant to buy. I don't want any surprises, or for the delivery person to ask me for extra money.
Are they removing the global shipping program in the new international listings that are posted on ebay? Do you know anything about it?
Thanks in advance.

·3 years agoI've seen something like that: many of the ones that used to show up with eBay's global shipping system now don't. I looked into it more, and the issue isn't that global shipping doesn't work; they have excluded some countries and maybe when you go and look you don't see that it has global shipping. I think it's all a customs issue, because with global shipping your purchase comes out cheaper and you make sure that once you pay, you don't have to pay anything else later because everything is included in the price, shipping and taxes. There is something that doesn't suit customs, and I've seen how they have excluded many countries.

·3 years agoIt doesn't pay eBay to have these shipping programs since they are responsible for any loss or damage to the product and obviously that much responsibility doesn't pay off for them, so they pass it on to the seller, logically this global shipping thing is something they will do away with over time.
Also, you pay VAT that is not the same as what you would really have to pay when handling it in any country, since the VAT rate and tariffs vary depending on the country and handling fees charged by the customs agent.

·3 years agoGlobal shipping is not managed by eBay, but by a company subcontracted by eBay, Pitney Bowes.
eBay has an obsession: maximum savings, subcontracting........... and these are the results.
eBay is NOT responsible for the shipments.
eBay does NOT sell anything.
eBay is NOT responsible for the items listed for sale.
eBay does NOT guarantee whether the item for sale on ITS page is original or fake.
eBay only guarantees that the huge flow of money generated by sales on a planetary scale FIRST AND FOREMOST has to go through ITS till......... and……after a CAREFUL cut, for listing fees and percentage on the sale.......... into the account of the TRUE seller........ and here too eBay is NOT responsible for possible days of delay.
Best regards.

·3 years agoHello
The program is NOT being removed by eBay, because it allows them to charge more money, you only have to think that the program DOES NOT allow combined shipping.
It’s the same sellers who remove themselves from the program because with the fees and the ongoing problems, the program’s “poor management,” they DO NOT want to continue.
