What eBay charges is basically armed robbery; the fees they charge are so outrageous that we should all stop selling on that platform. I sold a product for about €380, for which I paid €230 plus refurbishing plus handling, time spent, and so on, bringing my total expenses to about €300, shipping price €15, total €395. eBay charged me €54 for the sale of that product plus 49 for an advertisement or whatever... the thing is I lost money and eBay pocketed what should have been my profits. RIDICULOUS TO SELL ON EBAY, therefore also ridiculous to buy, so they do the same to those of us who buy. EBAY bay bay bay….
What eBay does is literally usury. Thousands of users don't switch platforms because they're afraid of adapting to a new one, but the reality is that even if you don't go to another platform and you make a small website selling your products and pay for advertising campaigns through the Internet to make yourself known, you end up reaching more people than on eBay and it still ends up being cheaper. In theory, if you want some visibility, you sponsor your product, so they will take an average of 10% more, but even when I sponsored it that way my ads had visits, and they were optimized for SEO. eBay is paying and paying for sellers to feed on what is supposedly a platform that gives you a lot of visibility, but then you realize it's a lie. On top of all those abusive fees, if you also want visibility in the rest of the European countries, you have to have at least the shop, which costs 39 euros a month. I moved to another famous platform that sells in many European countries as well as in Spain, which gives you visibility in all countries and automatic translation of your listings and only takes 5% of the price you set plus 0.70 for each transaction, unlike eBay, which practically takes 12% (11.5 +0.42) of the price you set plus shipping costs (which, on the other hand, are absurdly high for Europe compared to other buying and selling apps). From the very first day I left, my products already had visibility and I was making sales, without eBay shamelessly and abusively taking the fruits of my labor. And all those smoke-selling ghosts (which I don't know why but are almost all South American) who go around taking courses to sell on eBay only live off the courses and not off selling on eBay because they know damn well it's a scam and a disaster; anyone who is really selling and making money with eBay doesn't go around taking stupid courses to teach others to compete with them.
It's been a long time since they fired the Spain team, the so-called Mentors disappeared a long time ago, and now there are a couple of employees (from Ireland) who reply less and less and just copy/paste at you.
That can give you an idea of what Spain means to eBay.
