Pre-authorizations on eBay.
Ever since eBay took over the charges, it doesn't know how to handle preauthorizations, the eBay employee just replied to a message saying that eBay doesn't do those preauthorizations, which is absolutely false.
The problem is that eBay requests a preauthorization for an amount and then when it comes to actually charging it, it does it as another operation and therefore the bank does not cancel the preauthorization.
When I buy at the supermarket **** there is always a preauthorization for a slightly higher amount to cover possible weight variations and I have never seen two charges on my account.
Anyway ...

·2 years agoThank goodness that when I fill up my car's gas tank, the same thing doesn't happen.
I press the fill tank button, because I don't know exactly how much I need to put in, I swipe my credit card at the reader, the gas station gets authorization from my bank, I put in gas, normally the nozzle stops at around 40/50 euros.
I ask for the purchase receipt, I don't even have time to sit in the car when my bank notifies me, on my mobile, of the money movement, in the message it tells me that the gas station, not knowing what car I have...Smart - Ferrari Superfast - Porsche Cayenne....has provisionally withdrawn 120 euros from my account, to return them in full, and then only withdraw exactly the gasoline put in the tank.
All this in a matter of seconds, I don't want to think if what happens in a few seconds had to happen in a month.
Friday last week, I made two ebay purchases for a total of 250 euros.
I paid with rechargeable cybercard, better safe than sorry.
Lucky too that the gas station isn't ebay.
