·6 months agoHello, I went today to send a bubble envelope to Italy, 15cm high and 12cm long, and they asked me for 13.50 euros, saying that if it isn't a document it is considered a package and the price will be that of a light package and not a letter, and if I wanted to send it with tracking they asked me for 33 euros.

·6 months agoAs an individual, you're screwed, the rates are impossible for international shipments, and even more so outside the EU.
As a company, if you have a contract with Correos, you have to ask them to activate "paquete standar internacional" and for outside the EU "paquete premium internacional". Depending on the volume of shipments you have, they give you better or worse prices.... anyway, in our case within the EU everything is x2 and outside the EU it doesn't make sense so we've blocked all shipments right now. And then go around asking for rates from all the shipping operators to compare prices....
National certified letters with goods continue the same, ordinary mail for us? no way, I confirm that this is a country of clever people and the percentage of "losses" is sky-high... then you see it for sale on wallapop... xD...

·7 months agoThat happens to me too. It was a shame because it's already hard enough to sell with how much certified letters cost around the rest of the world, before it was about 8 bucks and now it's 15 and change. I've tried eBay's label itself and it seems like they cost a little less than the post office one, but we'll see what happens.
I'm just getting into selling collectible cards, and now I'm not sure whether I'm going to continue because I don't know how it can be profitable.

·7 months agoI found out yesterday when I went to drop off a package; they didn’t give me any alternative and since the sale was already closed and the shipping deadline was about to expire, I went ahead and sent it, assuming the loss from the difference between what I thought shipping would cost and what it actually cost me when I had to send it as a package. They confirmed to me that it was only international; domestic shipments are not affected by this change, which was supposedly for security reasons and all the BS they come up with. In my case, I’ve been selling little or nothing on eBay for a while now, which is a platform that in most cases is more than dead; Wallapop or Vinted have eaten it up with potatoes and nobody on the platform seems worried, I suppose because eBay in Europe is kind of meh. But the little I do put up for sale, I’ll have to list with shipping costs that match what Correos charges me; I’m not going to lose money with these changes, plus the commissions, etc. So yeah, for a **bleep** package under 500g, that’s 16.73 freaking euros. I doubt I’ll sell much with shipping that expensive, but hey, as I said before, I already sell almost everything on Wallapop and Vinted, where everything works much more conveniently in terms of shipping, payments, fees, etc. Unfortunately, for people who depend on international sales to countries where, for example, Wallapop and Vinted don’t reach, which are many, to say the least practically half of Europe and the rest of the world, it’s definitely a torpedo to the waterline of their sales.

·7 months agoI've been looking for several days for some way to send internationally without it costing an arm and a leg, and it's an impossible task; if anyone has any idea, it would be great to find out how.

OP7 months agoFor years now, I send the cheap stuff (or very cheap stuff) by ordinary mail; people (except in Spain, it hurts me to say) are usually quite honest, and for the moment in my office they're not giving me any trouble. I have a feeling that in the future they will, but for now, that's how it is. But anyway, this leads us to what it leads us to...

and from what I've seen, the same goes for domestic shipments; now, with regular/certified mail, goods can't be sent.

OP7 months agoMy regular letters are accepted for international shipments, in Spain I wouldn't even think of putting them there; I already did it and the losses were huge... but it's a real brick to the face, plain and simple.

·7 months agoregular mail if they let you? at my post office they told me that as regular mail you couldn’t send merchandise either, only documents could be sent.
if you say yes, on Monday I’ll try it as regular mail.

OP7 months agoIn my office, yes, they are accepting ordinary letters...everything else by Paq Ligth, with the added problem that you can’t send it to more than a group of countries, very broad, but of course not as many as before...and it’s almost impossible to adapt eBay’s shipping policies to Correos’ geographic zones, what a mess and eBay keeping quiet...they do their own thing and charge us double what they charge those on Ebay.com.

We inform you that, in compliance with the new regulatory framework of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), as of that date the Registered International Letter product will be limited exclusively to the sending of documents, so it will not be possible to use it for sending goods.
For sending goods abroad, Correos has international parcel services that offer tracking and global coverage...."
What do you make of it? can anyone shed some light? at my office they’re not making it very clear...

OP7 months agoAs expected, they refused to give me the internal document from Correos España... check with your office as soon as possible, because what's coming our way is serious...
