Handling International Shipping Issues and Disputes
Summary: scale-motors described a challenge of selling an item internationally to a buyer in Thailand. The shipment was delayed, leading to a claim and refund from the platform. However, the item was eventually delivered, leaving the buyer with both the item and the refund. Despite attempts to contact the buyer and appeal the decision, the issue remains unresolved, and the seller seeks advice. patito6 inquired if there was any resolution with the platform after confirming delivery.
Dear all:
I sold a valuable item to a buyer in Thailand. The parcel was delayed by the courier and/or customs, buyer raised a claim, a refund was granted by eBay, and a couple days later the item was delivered to the buyer (this can be verified in the package tracking). Now the buyer has both the item and the money, and, as a seller, I don't have the item nor the payment. Buyer is ignoring my messages to return the item. eBay has closed the case after the refund, ignoring my appeal. I suppose some of you have faced a similar problem in the past, so I'd appreciate your thoughts on how to face this situation. Thanks!

·1 week agoHello scale-motors. I’d like to know if in the end you managed to get eBay, once it knows the buyer has received the order, to give you any solution. Thanks

OP6 days agoHi, patito6. Nothing at all, it's impossible to contact eBay, there's no channel. They closed the case by giving the refund to the customer (even though I said the package was on its way and would arrive at some point) and there's no way to deal with this with anyone anymore. I found this forum, but I don't think eBay will bother looking at it or taking any action
