$148.50 lost and eBay washes its hands of it.
I bought some items for 148.50 USD through eBay. The seller initially replied to me in a friendly way, building trust, and assured me that he would send the order. However, after a first message saying that the package had been returned to the origin because of a problem with shipping charges, he stopped responding.
I waited in good faith until the very last moment to file the claim, believing that the 30 calendar day warranty period started from the estimated delivery date (June 23), and I filed my claim on July 23.
eBay always replied with the same message: that the claim was outside the 30-day Customer Guarantee period, without considering that this left the consumer completely unprotected, and finally they closed the case without offering any solution or mediating with the seller, leaving me without my 148.50 USD.
It is important to note that this 30-day policy goes against Spanish and European law, which protects the consumer against products not delivered or services not provided, regardless of the internal deadlines imposed by the platform. In addition, eBay never took steps to force the seller to refund or resend the order, despite the seller's negligent attitude and the fact that he had initially agreed to the return and possible reshipment.
The seller later apologized and offered a refund or reshipment with additional plants, but so far no refund has been made, and eBay has not intervened to ensure the case is resolved.
In short, 148.50 USD lost, a seller who does not deliver, and a platform that washes its hands completely, ignoring the protection it supposedly offers buyers.
Ebay completely ignores a customer who has been on the platform for 25 years.
