Good morning, colleagues,In March a customer bought 3 items from two listings from me, paid, and I sent them. Everything was normal up to that point.After a few days, right on Sunday morning, he opens two returns saying that none of the 3 items worked.Well, first of all that’s strange because, since they’re second-hand, I test them again before sending them just in case, and besides, 2 of the 3 items are extremely reliable and I’ve never seen any of them broken, so it’s very suspicious.I reply and tell him to call me because it’s very odd and that I’d give him all the possible help to solve the problem, but there was no response. He demanded that I send a courier to collect the products. I informed him about compatibility and he told me that wasn’t the problem and to have them picked up. I call the phone number listed on ebay and it doesn’t exist, I call the one listed (902) on Google and a shop answers (which is what it is) and an automated message, I press 1 for technical support and they never answer me, with how expensive a 902 is. I contact ebay and they tell me they can’t do anything, that there is a return and that the official procedure has to be followed. Once I accept the return, I indicate that I can’t send a label, so the buyer must ship it and pay for it. After Easter, he finally sends the 3 items by registered post. Well, the surprise comes when it arrives at the office: the box is in a terrible state (not because of transport), and on top of that you can hear things moving around inside, everything loose... Given the above, I proceed to make an unboxing video (everything looked really bad...) and surprise!!! Of the 3 items there are only 2, and those two are both broken, one from impact and the other cracked!! So then I go to the return and indicate that there is a problem, so I open a case with ebay, ME! Not the customer! And I explain the situation and that I have photographic evidence of it. And now comes the best part: EBAY’S RESPONSE!!! Without hesitation, with a copy-paste canned response, they tell me they can’t do anything, that there is only warranty for these cases if I meet the 3 conditions, the FREE RETURN one I don’t have accepted, and that the only thing I can do is indicate that it didn’t arrive in good condition and that I can only return 50%, that I have to swallow the rest, that they are not responsible, not only is one piece missing, but the two that arrived are in bad condition. In other words, I lose everything! And they give me a deadline of 3 days to take action and so that this doesn’t affect my reputation with defects. In other words, if I’m stubborn, I lose EVERYTHING and also 2 DEFECTS on my account! And if I bend over backwards for a clear scammer, I lose 50% and have to keep quiet... What do you think, do I report the buyer and ebay for complicity in fraud? Or do I just bend over backwards and lose money when it’s clearly a scam?
