The new eBay Community is here! 🎉

It’s official: the new eBay Community is now live and we’re delighted to welcome you! This new space is designed to make it easier for you to learn, explore, and join the conversations that interest you most. You’ll notice a cleaner interface, improved navigation, and new options that will help you find discussions, resources, and community members faster. Here are some of the changes we’re excited about: Home: A single centralized space for everything. The Home page lets you discover key resources, browse the community, and stay up to date more easily, so you can spend less time searching and more time interacting. New to eBay? We’ve got your back. Check out essential guides, tools, and resources designed to help you get started quickly. You’ll also find easy ways to connect with other community members, ask questions, and learn from experienced sellers. Announcements: Stay up to date by conveniently checking all the important updates in one place. Finding any announcement, from product changes to community news, is now easier: click the subscribe option so you don’t miss any important announcement. Forums: Enjoy the fantastic conversation experience you already know and love, now with more ways to participate. Ask questions, share thoughts, and connect with other sellers in a more dynamic and engaging environment. Search: The new improved search lets you find a wide range of content, including eBay resources, community discussions, social media content, and relevant events, so you can get comprehensive answers faster. In addition to conventional keyword searches, you can now also perform advanced searches with the help of AI.  Profile: If you created a profile on the previous platform, it will already have been migrated, but now is the time to personalize it. You can customize and optimize it by adding your bio, location, social media channels, and much more. This will help you introduce yourself to other users and build meaningful connections within the community. Keep in mind that, as we continue completing the migration, some content, such as reactions and images, may not appear immediately; it will be loaded gradually over the next few weeks. This is expected, and all data will be available once the process is complete. Take a few minutes to introduce yourself, explore, and join a discussion. Please remember that we always take your safety into account. For this reason, and to ensure we maintain the quality of content, our page is moderated. Review our community guidelines to help make our community a welcoming and respectful space for everyone.  Whether you’re a new seller, an experienced professional, or a buyer, or you’re simply curious about eBay, you’re in the right place. Thank you for being part of our community. We’re excited to see the conversations unfold in our new home! 🚀 The eBay Community team.

Intermittent technical issues and seller protection.

We are aware that some customers have been experiencing intermittent technical issues since Sunday in some parts of the eBay platform. We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve it.   eBay will protect your seller performance, including the removal of:       Negative or neutral feedback related to the intermittent technical issues       Defects resulting from affected orders (cancellations and claims closed without seller resolution)   We will also protect your valid tracking upload rate metrics and your on-time shipping metrics so they are not affected.   If an auction ended after April 26 at 21:01 h (CEST) and you believe it was affected, you have the option to cancel the order. We will protect your seller performance and refund the associated selling and advertising fees.   We know how important a reliable marketplace is and we appreciate your patience while we work to fix this issue. We will continue posting future updates here.

Bring your sponsored ads to life with a video

Online shopping is more visual than ever, and video has become one of the most powerful ways to help buyers understand what you sell, build trust, and increase sales.   That’s why we’re introducing video as a new way to showcase your items in Sponsored Listings with a priority strategy . Currently in beta , it’s the first step toward improving advertising on eBay with more dynamic and engaging ad formats. As we gather seller feedback and performance data, we’ll keep refining and evolving the experience over time.   Why video matters to you    With a video, buyers can see the item in action, quickly understand its key features, and shop with more confidence. You can use video to:  Stand out in search results and in the most visible placements on eBay. Show what the item looks like, fits like, or works like in real life. Highlight details that photos alone can’t show. Build trust so buyers can decide confidently.   How video works    You can now use short videos in Sponsored Listings with a priority strategy. Videos play automatically in eligible eBay placements. If a placement doesn’t support video, your ad will automatically show the ad image.   Getting started is simple:  If your listing already includes a video, you can reuse it in the ad without doing anything else. If not, you can upload a short video when creating or editing a campaign. You can add one video per ad with a duration of 5 to 60 seconds.   There will be no changes to the way we charge you. Sponsored Listings with video still use a cost-per-click model.    Tips for creating engaging videos   You don’t need a professional production. The most effective videos are usually simple and authentic: Show the item in the first few seconds Keep it brief: aim for 15 seconds. Focus on one key benefit or feature Design it for sound-off viewing    Start simple and then optimize based on performance.   Getting started    If you’re already using the priority strategy, it’s easy to add videos to your existing campaigns. You can compare performance using new video-specific stats like view rate and video completion rate, alongside the results from your existing campaigns.   If this is your first time using ads or a priority strategy, video gives you a simple way to increase visibility without losing control of your budget. You only pay when a buyer clicks your ad, and you can start with just a few listings.   You can add videos to your listings in Seller Hub or to your campaigns directly in the Advertising dashboard.

Introduction of EU Credit Notes for Seller Fees and Tax Reversals

Dear sellers:   To improve clarity and transparency, starting on October 31, 2025, eBay will begin issuing separate credit notes for all reversals of sellers’ fees, charges, and taxes in the EU. Each credit note will clearly show the credited amounts, as well as references to the original invoice.   What is a credit note? A credit note is a tax document that reduces or fully or partially cancels a current or previous invoice. It confirms that a certain amount – such as a reversed fee, a surcharge, or a refund – has been credited to your account. Like your tax invoice, an eBay credit note is an official accounting and tax document. You must keep it for your accounting records and treat it as a separate document that supplements the original invoice. Together, your invoice and your credit note provide a complete record of your transactions, making VAT reconciliation and reporting easier.   Why this change? This update: Improves transparency and makes it easier to match charges and reversals, Aligns eBay’s invoicing process with market best practices. Our goal is to make invoicing clearer, more transparent, and easier for sellers to manage. How to access your credit notes Starting on November 1, 2025, credit notes will be available in the same place as your tax invoices – provided as: PDF summary (for a quick view), CSV file (for detailed transaction-level information). You can download them from Seller Hub or My eBay: Go to the Payments tab in Seller Hub (or Payments in My eBay), Select Reports, Open the Tax invoices tab, You will see a list of available credit notes alongside your monthly invoices, To download, select Download summary or Download details. If you have any questions or need help, contact our customer service. Thank you for being part of the eBay community.

Information on non-automatic weighing instruments in Europe

Dear sellers:   We want to inform you that the European Commission and various market surveillance authorities have published an important guide with information for sellers and online platforms that sell non-automatic weighing instruments on the EU single market.   This guide only applies to non-automatic weighing instruments used for commercial purposes. However, instruments used for domestic purposes still need to include the CE marking.   Under the directive in question, sellers must physically place the CE marking on the product, as well as an additional metrology mark consisting of an uppercase “M” followed by two digits and the identification number of the notified body.   In order to list this type of product on eBay, sellers must attach the corresponding EU declaration of conformity.   If you are going to list non-automatic weighing instruments, consult this guide to make sure you comply with the regulations when selling on eBay.   For more information about regulatory compliance, see this guide .   Thank you for being part of the eBay community.

New tariffs and customs policy in the U.S.

Dear seller:   From April 3, 2025 , U.S. buyers will have to pay additional tariffs on orders over USD 800 and may need to provide personal information for customs clearance.   Due to the processing of shipments at U.S. customs, deliveries may be delayed. However, eBay will continue to adjust the estimated delivery dates to ensure an accurate delivery estimate for our buyers . As a general rule, once the buyer has completed their purchase on eBay, shipping companies usually take charge of collecting buyers' personal data, as well as collecting the amount of customs duties and tariffs. These charges will not appear in the prices shown to buyers.   We will take steps to protect our sellers as they adapt to these new tariffs and requirements, such as adjusting the late shipment rates — when tracking information shows they are due to shipping delays — and removing associated defects. We will also remove negative feedback related to tariffs.   We will provide more information as we learn more about the impact of these changes on Spanish sellers.   Thank you for being part of the eBay community.

The online dispute resolution platform will be suspended soon

Dear sellers:   As you may know, the European Commission provides consumers with an online dispute resolution platform (“ODR platform”) that can be used to resolve out-of-court disputes.   This online dispute resolution platform will soon be suspended. As a result, sellers will no longer be required to include links to the platform.   Here you can find the details of the new regulation that repeals the existing online dispute resolution regulation.   What will happen?   As of March 20, 2025, it will no longer be possible to submit complaints on the online dispute resolution platform.   By July 20, 2025 at the latest, all information related to cases on the ODR platform, including personal data, will be deleted, and the ODR platform itself will be suspended.   I am a consumer, what do I need to do?   You do not need to do anything. You just need to know that this out-of-court dispute resolution tool will no longer be available. For information about using eBay services, you can refer to the Terms of Use for handling complaints and, more generally, for dispute resolution.   I am a seller, what do I need to do?   As of July 20, 2025, listings must not contain information, links, or references to the ODR Platform. Since you will no longer be required to link to and inform about the ODR platform, you must remove the corresponding links and information in advance. You can also inform buyers that they will not be able to use the ODR platform to submit complaints after March 20, 2025.   Please note that this list is not exhaustive and is provided for reference only. If in doubt, seek independent legal advice.   Thank you for being part of the eBay community.

Updated information on the new statuses of second-hand clothing

Dear sellers:   We recently announced that, starting February 4, we were going to expand the new condition options for second-hand clothing items . However, today we have decided to postpone the launch of these condition options to make sure our users have the best possible experience. Therefore, the new condition options will be available starting in mid-February .   Since our goal is to make the selling process seamless and hassle-free, we are making the final adjustments to the rollout of the new condition options so that it is more effective and beneficial for your business. Thanks to these new options, you’ll be able to offer buyers a clearer description of an item’s condition, which will reduce the likelihood of returns due to condition-related issues.    We advise you that, after the launch of the new update in mid-February, you review your listings as soon as possible to make sure they appear in search results and avoid unnecessary returns.    The eBay Team
