Hello,
A buyer purchased a laptop I sold, and I shipped it via Correos to Croatia. Since Croatia is quite far from Spain, I had to send it internationally using Correos, a well-established shipping service in Spain.
The buyer placed the order on March 7th, and I shipped the laptop promptly on the morning of March 10th. After several days, I followed up with the buyer to check if they had received it, but they said no and opened a claim. Concerned that the package might have been lost, I went to Correos to file a complaint. However, they assured me that the laptop was not lost, it had simply been held up at customs. After my complaint, the package was finally released from customs and is now back in transit.
I informed the buyer about the update, but they responded rudely, complaining that it was a gift and that I should have chosen a better shipping method instead of a "cheap" one. Now, I’m worried they might cancel the order, leaving my laptop stuck in Croatia.
This situation is frustrating because I did everything correctly,I shipped the item on time, but the delay was due to customs, which was beyond my control. I sincerely hope that eBay will also protect the seller in this situation.
